The Story of Berkebile Oil Company

Berkebile Oil was founded in 1954 with $250 worth of motor oil. The company began as a local distributor of Oilzum motor oil. In 1956 we became the Mid-Atlantic distributor for STP products as well. 

In 1962 our founder, Cloyd Berkebile, was killed in a helicopter crash, leaving his wife, Catherine Berkebile, to run the company. Berkebile Oil became the first female-owned STP distributor in the world. 

The initial Berkebile (2+2) product, Gum Cutter, was launched in 1967. Since that time, Berkebile Oil has added products annually, and today that product line has grown to include over 50 products for cars, trucks, and recreational vehicles. 

In 1988 Berkebile Oil began exporting products. Since then, our products have been exported to 25 different countries. Our (2+2) products and brands are recognized and respected worldwide. In 1997 Berkebile Oil was named the Small Business Exporter of the Year for Pennsylvania.
